For You

Bobby was a little boy who lived in a little neighborhood. The neighborhood wasn’t very nice, and neither was their house. That’s because Bobby’s father left when he was just a baby. Bobby was lonely, as he only had his mother to keep him company, and she was always out working so Bobby could eat that night. For his entire life, Bobby’s mother was always there for him and caring for him, even when she couldn’t care for herself. Bobby and his mother loved each other very much.

On Bobby’s birthday, his mom decided to take him out to his favorite restaurant, the Burger House. When they were going there, Bobby’s mom was approached by a man. He was wobbling around, holding a bottle, so Bobby assumed that he was drunk. Once he got closer, Bobby saw that in his other hand, he was holding another object. The drunk man then suddenly stopped at about five feet away from Bobby and his mom. He raised his arm toward Bobby’s mom and then, in the dim glow of the street light, Bobby saw that he was holding a gun.
Right as he pulled the trigger, Bobby leaped in front of his mom and in an instant, collapsed to the ground. Bobby’s mom stared in shock for a moment but then kneeled to the ground and threw herself over Bobby. But, the drunken man wasn’t done. He ran over, grabbed her hair, and threw her to the side. Then, he started to kick her in the ribs as she tried to get away. Bobby saw this, and despite his wound, he got up, ran over, and leaped onto the man’s back, and ripped a clump of his hair out, causing him to stumble backwards. Then, Bobby wrapped his hands around the man’s neck and squeezed as tight as he could. Fighting back, the drunken man grabbed Bobby from behind his back and threw him away. He then pulled out his gun and shot several rounds into Bobby.
Thinking that Bobby was dead, he turned his back towards him to find Bobby’s mom but Bobby then leaped up, snatched up a broken glass bottle from the ground, and then rammed the jagged end right into the drunken man’s eye. He screamed with pain as blood spewed out. But Bobby wasn’t done. He then pulled out the bottle, and repeatedly slammed it into the man’s stomach and chest. Finally, after Bobby was sure that the man was dead, he himself collapsed, dizzy from blood loss.
Lying on the ground, Bobby saw his mom come and kneel over him, crying and telling him how much she loved him and how indebted to him she was. With a little smile tugging at the edges of his mouth, Bobby whispered, “I love you too,” as the world slid out of focus.

    1. I’m not going to put them up here, as this is just a blog for my writing, but I’m putting them in that other collection of short stories that I told you about.

  1. Oh.
    Dang, Bobby is pretty strong.
But if this was out on the streets, wouldn’t someone try to restrain Bobby and the drunk man?
And I’m assuming this drunk man was his father.
Ooh! I like these, Alex. Keep it up!
